To find your magic number of calories you must first workout how many calories you need to maintain your current weight by using the table below. When you have found your number just subtract 500 calories from it and that will be your daily calorie limit. What is also very useful is the criteria devised by the United States Department of Agriculture. They base the number of calories an individual needs on their age and level of exercise done per day. The following levels are as follows: Active – above 60 mins per day, Moderate – 30-60 mins per day and sedentary is less than 30 mins of exercise per day.
